COOLING COLUMN EMPTY COLUMN This is an an empty column, which acts as a spray column. Instead of the packing creating surface area to air water absorption, the water droplets from the spray nozzle are the effective area. It has an equivalent packing density greater than 200 m2.m-3. It can also have packing added (not supplied).
